I teach guitar, piano, and ukulele to students of all ages, from beginners to experienced players. Many of my students come from schools and neighborhoods around Sandy Springs, an area I’ve grown up in and know well. My Lessons are casual, practical, and student-focused, helping players truly understand their instrument while learning the music they love.
Over the last eight years, my guitar career has ranged from weddings in a classical quartet to electric guitar in a rock band. I’ve spent about half that time as a hired musician in studios around Atlanta.
Piano has been a part of my life for three years, and I’m currently the keyboardist in a band called Cusp. I’ve played the ukulele as long as the guitar and have been teaching both instruments for over five years.
Outside of teaching, I’ve worked as a hired musician in studios and bands, so I teach in a way that reflects how music actually works outside of a classroom.
My lessons are relaxed and straightforward. NO busywork and NO memorizing flashcards. I want my students to understand how their instrument works and actually be able to play the music they care about
I’ve taught both privately and on contract, and I am currently at School of Rock's Lenox location. I can read sheet music but also teach by ear, and I have basic skills on drums and bass that I use to enhance lessons. I work with students ranging from age 3 to 60, including many neurodivergent kids with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and/or autism.
I’m MTNA-certified and have completed Mandated Reporter training, ensuring that my teaching meets professional standards and prioritizes student safety. Combined with my QPR (suicide prevention) certification, I create a secure, supportive space where students can explore music confidently.
Being mindful of the mental health of my students is a core part of how I teach. For me, teaching is also about building trust and being there for my students as they grow.
